My top 7 teams to watch.

After reading Kristul’s top 10 I thought it’d be cool to compare the both of our picks. One big difference is I only have a top 7. These 7 teams are the ones who I think will make a lot of noise this season. Sorry I couldn’t give a top 10, I just couldn’t make up my mind on the last 3 teams.

1. Of course number one would be UCONN. No one can deny that they are a great team. Stewie and Jefferson will make it very hard to stop them form winning a 4th National Championship.

2. South Carolina: Dawn Staley…. Dawn Staley… Dawn Staley, she doesn’t like to lose, I think everyone knows that. So last year when the Gamecocks’ season ended early vs. Notre Dame I’ll bet you all the money in my pocket that she was already planning for this year. Tiffany Mitchell will be a huge factor in how well USC plays.

3. Tennessee: With me being from Tennessee I have nothing but love for the Lady Vols, but I think we can all agree that they haven’t been the same lately. This year with Diamond Deshields being able to finally play and contribute to the team, UT may just make it to the final four and maybe even the National Championship.

4. Notre Dame: Although they lost Jewell Loyd the Irish will still be the team everyone may want to keep an eye on. A lot of people may think Brianna Turner will be the head of the team, but in my opinion Lindsay Allen will make or break this team. She’s the general on the floor and she’ll need to act like it.

5. Florida State University: For some strange reason I think FSU will be a force this year. Adut Bulgak will be someone to look out for this season. Don’t sleep on the Seminoles just yet.

6. Baylor: If you don’t know Nina Davis, you may want to do some research on her. She’s a 5-11 forward but she definitely doesn’t play like she’s undersized for her position. Her and sophomore guard Niya Johnson will be making some noise this year.

7. Ohio State: Kelsey Mitchell will help lead this team tthroughout the year. We saw what she could do as a freshman, this year I’m expecting a lot out of the sophomore guard.
