Emma Meessaman and Swin Cash

As previously stated during last week's WNBA Transactions post, there won't be much of any significant news happening during the month of March beyond training camp contracts. However, there were two key signings from the New York Liberty and the Washington Mystics.

March 8,

Swin Cash - New York Liberty (Re-signed)

The New York Liberty are bringing back much more than what can be provided on a stat sheet and it explains the re-signing of Swin Cash wholeheartedly. Cash is the ultimate coach on the floor when needed to give a sense of direction whether it is on or off the court. She also does a lot of great promotional work for not only the team in the New York market, but is a also a great ambassador for the WNBA. Those kind of intangibles are hard to find, which would make sense for the Libs to retain the heart and soul of the team.

Emma Meessaman - Washington Mystics (Re-signed)

Emma Meessaman has signed a contract extension through 2019. Coach Mike Thibault has always been applauded for finding diamonds in a rough and Meessaman has shined bright having her best season to date averaging 11 points and 6 rebounds per game in 2015. In that same season also awarding her a spot in the All-Star game.

*Previous signings for this week*

March 7.

Yvonne Turner, Shanece McKinny, and Jacki Gamelos - Chicago Sky

These are mere camp signings for the Chicago Sky, but I am impressed with the perseverance of Gamelos after battling numerous ACL injuries. For her to want to continue to fight for a spot on a WNBA roster shows her willingsness to work even harder to achieve her ultimate goal.

March 9,

Porsha Roberts - Minnesota Lynx

This is another camp signing. I don't know too much about her, but she might have performed well enough to get noticed from the Lynx brass and the Stars camp last season.
