Amber Stocks Chicago Sky

Amber Stocks will replace former Sky head coach Pokey Chatman who was fired in October and is now the head coach of the Indiana Fever. This will be Stocks first stint as a head coach after years of being an assistant under Brian Agler with the Los Angeles Sparks (2015-2016) and at Xavier University (2002-2009). She has also assisted in other areas as a former analyst for ESPN 3 and the Big East Network.

Because this is her first time being a head coach, we don't know much of what to expect, but if we can take anything away from her time in Los Angeles, I think she will do great. Of course it isn't the same as being an assistant, but she helped the Sparks improve on the defensive end which lead to this year's title run. Although the Sky were great offensively (finished 2nd in OffRtg), it was tough for them to establish a defensive identity (finished 11th in DeffRtg) and I think that will be an area where Stocks will be looking to shore up for the Sky.
